The Sisters of Hillock.

a story of vengence betrayal and bewilderment,
set in a perthshire town at the same time witches all around the world hanged for their crimes against god.

The sisters of Hillock

Joining the crowds we walked through Hillock, a small Perthshire town. The embers flew through the Smokey sky as we approached an old house. A tall old house with windows black as the nights sky. The sisters stood outside their door looking at us with a evil glare. They knew they were going to burn.

Early morn, another day another trial for witchcraft. Three people have hanged for this crime against god.
The scent of spells filled the air of Hillock for too long something needed to be done. I would need to make a stand against the sisters. This would be difficult I would need to call a meeting in the county hall and then gather a crowd. The sisters have lived in Hillock for over twenty years no one knew them or of their past, but one thing was sure they looked very religious and they were very fortunate in life. This aroused suspicion in this already suspicious town.
Elisabeth Cunning, a young woman in her early twenties was caught dancing naked around a fire in old willow woods after midnight singing satanic songs and chanting satanic spells, the spell translated sounded like ? lord of evil, lord of bad buy my soul for what I need and what you have? we believe she has spoken to the devil and has made a deal with him. She will be thrown off a cliff if she survives she is indeed a witch if she dies all charges will be cleared and heaven will take her and god will forgive her.
At the cliff I looked down to whom I just charged with witchcraft and gave her the last rights for indeed if she wasn?t a witch she would surely die. The punishment then began I blind folded her and handed her over to fate by pushing her off the only cliff in hillock. Justice would be served.
The sisters being part of the crowd witnessed this and seemed stricken with fear. I noticed this in their eyes and this was another piece of evidence for me to convict them. A meeting was called the following day and the sisters did not go. A register was taken and the people of Hillock started to spread rumours and talk amongst themselves accusing the sisters of things they could never say to the sisters faces. This furthered peoples suspicion.
Five years ago the sisters where charged with carrying implements of witchcraft as candles were found in their home after the town agreed on a house to house search. Nothing was done as all charges had been dropped, the sisters convincing the court that the candles were for memorial reasons only to mourn their dead mother. Because no one knew their past we seen this as possible and the idea of witchcraft in relation to the sisters was forgot about. This was a distraction I see right through these people the sisters have them all under a spell but somehow I am not affected.
Present day, everyone in the hall came to an agreement, tonight we will descend on the sisters and put them on trial. For witchcraft. This will end whatever spell the sisters have on the town.
Rumours about the sisters capture spread like wild fire and everyone who was jealous or saw something different in the sisters wanted to help bring them down. The sun had faded to moonlight and the stars shone in the clear sky. Each villager walked to the town centre and collected a torch. As the crowds gathered the marching slowly went into play down toward the old house. The capture of the bewitching sisters was nigh.
I am not an honest man. In fact I am deviant twisted and also practice witchcraft. I took an unhealthy addiction to the dark art when I came across a book within the cathedral the priest was reading, we of course hanged the priest for crimes against got and I took possession of the book. One night when the moon was full I sat alone. I gathered the ingredients to cast a spell and cast it into the nigh sky.
The spell was wicked but if I wanted to practice magic successfully I needed to be free of suspicion. The spell I cast would bring young woman to the town and make them seem suspicious, woman that are considered weird or unusual to the Christian town folk.
The spell would kill innocent woman and girls. The sisters were in fact a victim of this spell and they would die because of me, the spell worked.
The town folk gathered at the house preparing themselves for the spells they may encounter, some folk were praying and others clutching the torches like it was their very lives they were holding on to. We arrived at the gate of the sisters house, me in front I called for the sisters to come forth and face the crowd. They would die, I would live.
The sisters were forced to the stacks and told to escape using powers to prove their wickedness, town folk passing through would shout insults calling them witches and pretending to get an incredible itch when one of the sisters looked up, some said they heard the sisters cast spells on the passing town folk and those who the spell apparently was cast upon would then shiver and say ' oh its cold so cold, witches witches'.
After a day in the stacks and a court hearing that didn't go in the sisters favour they were sentenced to death, as before and as it has always been they will be thrown off a cliff, if they survive they are indeed witches and shall be burned at the steak and if they fall to their death but have been studying witch craft hell awaits them.
